Ingredients
- 40g (1/4 cup) sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons peanut oil
- 1 red onion, halved, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 500g beef fillet, thinly sliced across the grain
- 1 x 440g pkt thin hokkien-style 98% fat-free shelf fresh noodles (Wokka brand)
- 100g bean sprouts
- 100g snow peas, trimmed, thinly sliced lengthways
- 80g snow pea sprouts
- 125ml (1/2 cup) honey teriyaki stir-fry sauce (Continental Stir Fry Tonight brand)
- 60ml (1/4 cup) Massel vegetable liquid stock
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- Pinch of salt
Method
- Step 1Heat a wok over medium heat until just smoking. Add sesame seeds. Stir-fry for 30 seconds or until toasted. Transfer to a bowl.
- Step 2Heat half the oil in the same wok over medium-high heat until just smoking. Stir-fry onion and garlic for 2 minutes or until onion softens. Transfer to a bowl. Reheat wok and stir-fry one-third of the beef for 2 minutes or until brown. Transfer to bowl with the onion. Repeat, in 2 batches, with remaining beef.
- Step 3Rinse noodles under warm water to separate. Drain. Heat remaining oil in the wok over medium-high heat until smoking. Add noodles, beef mixture, bean sprouts, snow peas and snow pea sprouts. Stir-fry for 2 minutes or until heated through.
- Step 4Combine the honey teriyaki sauce, stock and oyster sauce in a jug. Add to wok and stir-fry for 1 minute or until hot. Taste and season with salt. Transfer to serving bowls and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
