Try something different with this imaginative take on the classic Reuben sandwich.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup light whole-egg mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 8 Golden Crumpets
- 100g sliced pastrami
- 1 cup sauerkraut, well drained
- 4 slices Don Thinly Sliced Leg Ham
- 2 gherkins, sliced
- 60g cheddar, thinly sliced
Method
- Step 1Preheat a sandwich press. Combine the mayonnaise and tomato sauce in a small bowl.
- Step 2Spread the crumpets with the mayonnaise mixture and sandwich the pastrami, sauerkraut, ham, gherkin and cheese between crumpets. Place in the hot sandwich press and cook, with lid down, for 2-3 minutes or until toasted and filling is warm
