Pizza pies in the jaffle machine? Perfect!
Ingredients
- 2 sheets ready-rolled frozen reduced-fat puff pastry, partially thawed
- Olive oil cooking spray
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 50g shaved ham, chopped
- 1/2 x 225g can pineapple pieces in natural juice, drained
- 2 tablespoons grated reduced-fat pizza cheese
- Mixed salad leaves, to serve

- Jaffle sandwich maker
Method
- Step 1Lightly spray jaffle maker with oil. Preheat jaffle maker.
- Step 2Meanwhile, place 1 sheet pastry on work surface. Spread one half with pizza paste, leaving a 2cm border around edges. Top with half the ham, pineapple and cheese. Fold pastry over. Press edges to seal.
- Step 3Cook pies for 5 to 6 minutes or until golden and puffed. Repeat with remaining pastry, pizza paste, ham, pineapple and cheese. Cut pizza pies into triangles. Serve with salad leaves.

Notes
Variation: Combine 2 chopped tomatoes, 1 crushed garlic clove, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 2 tablespoons sliced kalamata olives, 1/4 cup torn fresh basil leaves and 4 halved bocconcini cheese in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon mixture onto pastry. Fold pastry over. Press edges to seal. Follow recipe from step 3.
Budget tip: Replace shaved ham with one 60g cabanossi stick, thinly sliced, and save around $1.31 in total.
