Look after your heart and make your taste buds sing with these healthy lamb steak burgers.
Ingredients
- 4 (about 100g each) lamb Heart Smart leg steaks
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 teaspoons Middle Eastern spice mix
- 4 Turkish bread rolls, halved
- 1/2 cup hummus
- 1/2 cup purchased tabouli
- 120g (4 slices) chargrilled eggplant, patted dry with paper towel
Method
- Step 1Heat a barbeque grill or frying pan on a medium-high heat. Brush both sides of the lamb steaks with 2 teaspoons of the oil and sprinkle with the spice mix. Brush both sides of the bread with the remaining oil.
- Step 2Cook the lamb for 3 minutes each side, for medium. Transfer to a plate and set aside for 5 minutes to rest. Add the bread and cook for 20-30 seconds each side or until lightly toasted.
- Step 3Top the bases of the rolls with the hummus, tabouli and eggplant. Top with the lamb and the top of the rolls. Serve immediately.
