Author Notes: I work weekends at the rooftop bar of a U Street-area club in DC. It can get pretty sauna-like up there, and I’ve found myself sipping on these while cleaning up and counting tips at the end of my shifts of late. It’s tasty but mellow, refreshing, and highly drinkable. It’s a variation on my pal JR’s “Man Jam,” an artfully-named version of a sweet tea vodka with lemonade. That concoction is much too sweet for my tastes, hence this version. —Chris Hagan
Makes: 1 pint-sized cocktail
Ingredients
-
1
ounce sweet tea vodka (a 2-count)
-
1
ounce raspberry vodka (a 2-count)
-
3-4
lemon wedges
-
water
Directions
- Pour the vodkas and squeeze the juice from the lemon wedges into an empty shaker. (Throw the wedges themselves in, too. They’ll get strained out.) Add ice. Shake vigorously. Fill a pint glass with fresh ice. Strain the shaker mixture over. It should fill the glass about halfway, maybe a little more if you’re a heavy pour. (One ounce, for me, is a two-count with a speed pour, so a half ounce would be a one-count.) Fill to the top with water. Stir, garnish with a lemon wedge, and sip while sitting poolside.
