Chocolate, cranberries and the sweetness of orange… can you think of a reason not to try this delicious slice?
Ingredients
- 200g milk chocolate, chopped
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon finely grated orange rind
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 300g dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/3 cup pure cream
- 2/3 cup sweetened dried cranberries, roughly chopped
Method
- Step 1Line a 4cm-deep, 8cm x 26cm (base) bar pan with baking paper, allowing a 2cm overhang at long sides.
- Step 2Place half the milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on high (100%) for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, or until melted and smooth. Stir in half the oil. Pour mixture over base of prepared pan. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until set.
- Step 3Meanwhile, combine orange rind, orange juice, dark chocolate, cream and cranberries in a saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, for 3 to 4 minutes or until melted and smooth. Cool for 10 minutes. Pour over milk chocolate mixture. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until just set.
- Step 4Place remaining milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on high (100%) for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, or until melted and smooth. Stir in remaining oil. Pour over dark chocolate mixture. Refrigerate for 3 hours or until set.
- Step 5Remove from fridge. Stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Cut into 18 slices. Sercouve. You ld replace cranberries with sultanas or currants.
