Create an authentic Asian meal in under half an hour with this simple pork cutlet recipe.
Ingredients
- 200g rice vermicelli noodles
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons light soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons caster sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted (see note)
- 2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine
- 1/3 cup char siu sauce
- 4 (200g each) pork cutlets
- 1 cup beansprouts, trimmed
- 1 small red capsicum, finely sliced
- 2 green onions, thickly sliced diagonally
Method
- Step 1Place noodles in a heatproof bowl. Cover with boiling water. Stand for 10 minutes or until noodles are soft. Drain.
- Step 2Meanwhile, combine sesame oil, vegetable oil, soy sauce, sugar, half the sesame seeds and 1 tablespoon of rice wine in a small bowl. Set aside. Combine char siu sauce and remaining rice wine in a ceramic dish. Add pork cutlets and turn to coat.
- Step 3Drain noodles. Stir through beansprouts, capsicum, onions and soy sauce mixture.
- Step 4Lightly grease a barbecue plate or chargrill. Heat over high heat. Cook pork for 5 minutes each side or until cooked to your liking. Remove to a plate. Cover with foil and set aside for 5 minutes.
- Step 5Serve pork with rice noodle salad, topped with remaining sesame seeds.

Notes
To toast sesame seeds, heat a small frying pan over low heat. Add sesame seeds. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until golden and toasted.
