Give frozen peas a chance in this magnificent side!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small white onion, halved, thinly sliced
- 1 large garlic clove, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1/3 cup dry white wine
- 200g red cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 50g butter, chopped
Method
- Step 1Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add onion. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until softened. Add garlic and fennel seeds. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until fragrant. Add wine. Simmer until liquid has reduced by half.
- Step 2Reduce heat to medium. Add cabbage and peas. Cook, tossing gently, for 5 minutes or until peas are heated through and cabbage just starts to wilt. Add butter. Toss until butter has melted. Season with salt and pepper. Serve.
