Six ingredients and hungry tummies are all you need for these Bolognaise pies.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium brown onion, finely chopped
- 600g lean beef mince
- 575g jar primavera pasta sauce
- 1 sheet ready-rolled frozen puff pastry, partially thawed
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
Method
- Step 1Preheat oven to 220°C/200°C fan-forced.
- Step 2Heat oil in a large, deep frying pan over medium heat. Add onion. Cook, stirring, for 3 to 4 minutes or until onion has softened. Add mince. Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to break up mince, for 5 to 6 minutes or until browned. Stir in pasta sauce. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes or until mixture has thickened. Transfer to a bowl. Set aside for 15 minutes to cool.
- Step 3Divide mixture between four 1 cup-capacity oven-proof ramekins. Cut pastry sheet into quarters. Brush ramekin edges with water. Place pastry over filling, folding over edges. Cut a cross in the centre of pie tops. Brush tops with egg. Place ramekins on a baking tray. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden.
