Make the most of the sweet flavour of pears in this impressive barbecue dessert.
Ingredients
- 4 pears, peeled, halved lengthways
- 30g butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks, crushed
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar, extra
- 200g sour cream
Method
- Step 1Use a teaspoon to remove the cores from the pears. Heat a barbeque plate on a medium heat.
- Step 2Place the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon sticks in a small saucepan over a medium heat and stir until the butter melts and sugar dissolves.
- Step 3Brush the sugar mixture evenly over the pears and cook the pears on the barbeque for about 3 minutes each side or until golden and caramelised.
- Step 4Sprinkle the extra brown sugar over the sour cream and just swirl through. Serve with the warm pears.
