Fire up the barbie, make these meaty skewers and enjoy the footy finals with friends!
Ingredients
- 500g beef mince
- 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped oregano
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 chorizo sausages, sliced into 1cm-thick slices
- Olive oil spray
Method
- Step 1Combine the beef, onion, garlic, paprika, oregano and egg in a medium bowl. Roll mixture into 32 balls with 3 teaspoons of mixture in each. Alternately thread 2 meatballs and 2 slices of chorizo on each skewer. Press meatballs down slightly to flatten.
- Step 2Heat a barbecue or char-grill plate to medium-high heat. Spray skewers with oil. Cook on barbecue for 4 minutes each side or until browned and cooked through.
Notes
You will need to soak 16 small bamboo skewers in cold water for 1 hour for this recipe. Tip: These skewers can be served with allioli (see related recipe) or almond sauce (see related recipe).
